Exemplary Practices in Academic Advising

Structure

The University Faculty Senate legislation calls for "An organizational model for the delivery of effective advising."

Ideal Practice

The structure of an academic advising program must be intentional, reflective of the development and demographic characteristics of the students it serves, and responds to the special needs of individuals. The structure of the academic advising program must be consistent with the unit's (e.g. college, department, division, location) academic programs and organizational structure.
