Creative Collaborations and Purposeful Partnerships Seminar

Leveraging relationships for student success

Effective academic advising does not occur in isolation. No one department, division, or unit owns advising and student success on a college campus. Institutions of higher education are connected communities with a unified goal of providing a transformative learning experiences for its students. As advising professionals, we are constantly searching for ways to improve the academic experience, inside and outside the classroom. The Creative Collaborations Seminar makes the case that creating and maintaining partnerships will enhance the campus climate for all advising professionals and ultimately increase student success. In this seminar we will discuss potential partnerships, identify common barriers to collaboration, and help you create a meaningful and immediate approach to cultivate relationships on campus. Sample concurrent sessions include:
  • Partnership in Academic Advising
  • Bridging the Academic Affairs-Student Affairs Chasm
  • Empowering Peers to Help their Fellow Students
  • Why Do We Do It This Way?: Breaking the Box
